18 months

Our boy at 18 months

-He loves to dance. He spins in circles till he gets dizzy.
-When he was younger we taught him the sign for please and more. For some reason he has stopped signing it and now to say please he slowly nods his head up and down with big eyes.
-He is better able to communicate what he wants. We were walking through the mall today and as we walked by the pretzel place he started saying, "Mmmm", "Mmmm", "Mmmm" and pointing. He wanted a pizza pretzel, that's his favorite. Pizza anything is his favorite.
-He has started talking so much. It seems like he says a new word every day. He likes to repeat words after us.
-He loves when he hears a firetruck or airplane outside. He gets quiet and listens hard and then tries to imitate their noise.
-Playing chase and being chased are some of his favorite things!
-He is the snuggliest snuggle bug. We love him!

16 months

Our boy at 16 months
-He is noticeably understanding so much. We can ask him a question and he will point to what we are talking about or gesture toward an item mentioned. He lifts his arms when its time to put his shirt on and gets his shoes when were getting ready to go outside.
-Whenever he gets hurt he likes to reenact the scene over and over. He says "bonk" and points to whatever body part got hurt.
-He is saying more words clearly. The other morning we were staying in a hotel room with my parents and when he woke up and saw my Dad he clearly and excitedly said, "Ga-pa".
-He likes to get people to pick him up and then he points and gibber jabbers about where he wants them to take him.
-He has such a funny since of humor. He loves to make people laugh and he loves to laugh with people when they are already laughing. If we are all laughing really hard he will start making himself laugh hard and then try to keep us laughing. He makes a hysterical snarling smile when he thinks he is being funny.
-One of his favorite things to do with people or animals is play chase. He loves to chase or be chased but especially for you to chase him.
-He is enjoying food more. It is so cute to watch him sit at a table and feed himself. He started wanting to use a spoon a couple weeks ago and tries to feed himself with that.
-His new words include bubba and making an elephant noise while his arm swings around like the trunk.
-He discovered that we all have two ears. He was sitting on GG's lap playing with one of her ears and got so fascinated when he found out she had one on each side.
-He loves to be around people! He gets so excited when dada gets home, students come to visit or we go out and about.
-It is a joy to watch him learn and grow! We get to see more and more of his personality every month and I love it!

15 months

Our boy at 15 months
-This month he has started communicating so much more, with words, other sounds and gestures.
-His new words to add to his collection are: baby, Grandpa, Grandma, GG, all done, wa wa (water), nana (banana), nose, na na na (nurse) and woof (like a dog). He also repeats words people say a lot but I think he is just repeating the sounds and doesn't necessarily know what they mean.
-He really likes noses lately. He will say nose and go around to each person and touch their nose.
-If I had to guess his favorite animal it would either be a dog, cat or bird because he gets SO excited when he sees one. A cow would have to be in the running too because he moo's every time there is one in sight. We were in Chick-fil-a the other night and he saw the poster of a giant cow holding a sign and started mooing excitingly.
-Some of his new favorite foods are: ginger snaps, any kind of bean (especially black beans and green beans) and, of course, candy...we will blame daddy for that. :)
-He is getting much more daring which results in more bumps and scratches from tumbles. He attempts to climb and stand on anything he can find.
-As you can see from the pictures he does not like to stop for very long. He likes to run around and explore.
-The picture of his finger up by his mouth is what he does when he is excited about something. He points with his finger up by his mouth and makes excited noises. Its mostly when he sees a bird, dog or cat or any other animal.
-One of my favorite things is when I am holding him and he wraps his arms all the way around me and clings on to my back. He gives the sweetest hugs.
-There are so many moments I sit there and soak up and hope to never forget. We love our little boy!

14 months

Our boy at 14 months
-I uploaded these photos yesterday and then got back on this morning to write a little something. As I looked over them again today I got a big smile on my face. I love my little boy. I love his personality, how he plays, all the faces he makes and the adventures we have together.
-I think its fitting that he isn't sitting in his rocking chair in most of these pictures. He loves to run, stomp and climb.
-He is quite a climber. He will climb anything. He has climbed on top of bed, on top of our dinning room table and even pushed a chair over to the counter and tried to climb up there.
-He has added several more words, like"uh oh" and a few more animal noises like "buk buk buk buk" as a chicken. Sometimes he so badly wants to communicate but doesn't have the words. He gets so excited and jibber jabbers and makes so many facial expressions as he tries to communicate.
-He has started understanding our words a lot more. We will say, "lets put your shirt on" and he will put his head down as if going into a shirt. Or we'll say, "Do you want to go outside?" and he will go to the door.
-He doesn't take a pacifier anymore. I noticed him not wanting it very often and then one day he just wouldn't take it.
-New foods he has tried and liked are beans, corn, yogurt and of course he had an Oreo and totally loved it.
-He and I have been going on a little walk to a near by park everyday and playing for a little while. He loves it. He smiles so big when he goes down the slide and swings on the swing. All though he only enjoys the swing for a little while. Maybe he is like his momma and gets "car sick" on swings.
-He loves when daddy gets home from work. One of the words he says the most is dada or daddy. He follows Paul around everywhere when he gets home. They have a very sweet relationship.
